There are simply too many good columnists to read them all. Thanks to Town Hall and other sources on the internet such as The Drudge Report we can enjoy more and other columnists other than what our local liberal fish wrapper proffers.
I found Town Hall originally by clicking on a link in the Drudge report.
I read (in no particular order) David Limbaugh, George Will, William Buckley, Ann Coulter, Peggy Noonan,Mike Adams(professor at UNCW), Thomas Sowell, and Michelle Malkin regularly.
I also read a couple of [gasp] liberals frankly to see if they still believe the way they did believe before. Ellen Goodman is still liberal (she has written two good columns in ten years--one was on homegrown tomatoes and the other on coffee). Ellen also uses proper english which I guess keeps her from being a total uber-liberal since most liberals have little regard for diction and rules of grammar just like any other rules that exist.
Once or twice a year I read a Molly Ivans column just to see if she is still the shrill voice of hatred that she so often is. (for a liberal she is amazingly consistent)
I used to read William Rasberry occasionally but getting past the Washington post password thing is very tedious to only find the occasional column that resonates.
On the other hand David Limbaugh--less bombastic than his brother is a continual delight. (Not to say that his brother is less delightful, his brother means radio to me, not the written word), George Will has an acerbic wit, delightful use of language, and addresses topics with an intellect only superseded by William Buckley just barely. William Buckley is the class act of columnists. Thomas Sowell is by far the most prolific writer of columns that I am aware of. I've had lunch with Mike Adams so I know his columns are tougue-in-cheek mostly and a real hoot! And lastly I'd like to speak about the femme fatale', the terrifc trifecta of Ann, Michelle, and Peggy. What can a person say more about these beautiful, intellectual, conservative women? Ann has class and wit. Michelle can to my attention only after her column on the Japanese interment (which happened at the insistence of FDR and future liberal cheif justice Earl Warren) Michelle always makes me think, and finally Peggy Noonan, Peggy authored a book on Ronald Reagan which made me a fan.
Consevatives, we have a wonderful, delightful bunch of folks to enjoy reading!
